What is Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Approval?
Once you apply online for the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, your application is first verified by your school or college or University (Institution Level Verification). After this verification, the application is forwarded to Bikash Bhavan/ Higher Education Department for final State Level approval.
How to Check If Your Application Has Been Approved?
To check whether your application has been approved, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Dashboard:
- Visit the official Swami Vivekananda Scholarship portal: https://svmcm.wb.gov.in/
- Use your Application ID and Password to log in.
- Check Application Status:
- On the dashboard homepage, locate the application table.
- If your application has been approved, you will see a green notification under the status column.
- The status will show:

This means your application has been forwarded from the institution level to Bikash Bhavan, and only the disbursement of the scholarship amount is pending.

Who is Getting Approval in the First Phase?
The school students’ scholarships are being prioritized to ensure that they receive the funds during the ongoing academic session.
- In the first phase, only school students, including those in Class XI and Class XII (renewal cases), are being approved.
- Applications are being given to students from colleges that applied in the first phase. Approval will be given to the remaining colleges in a phased manner, will start in the upcoming days.
