The application process is school-based. Students do not need to apply individually online at the first stage.

After the school uploads student details, the next step is OTP Verification on the Self Declaration Portal.
- Students will receive an SMS from Banglar Shiksha with a Student Code and Verification Link.
- Go to selfdeclaration.wb.gov.in.
- Enter your Student Code and registered mobile number.
- An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Enter the OTP and verify.
- Once successful, a confirmation message will appear: “Your declaration has been successfully verified. You are now eligible to receive financial assistance under the Taruner Swapna Scheme.”
- Download the Self-Declaration Certificate (may be required by your school).
